ATR represents the Access to Recovery III program administered by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ADA). The Missouri ADA was granted $13 million in federal funding late in 2010 to support this program for four years.

Three of six regions in Missouri were chosen for this program. The Southwest Missouri region, with clinical treatment centers in Springfield and Joplin, was one of three community-based and faith-based coalitions to be chosen.

Sigma House and its affiliates are part of a 14-agency coalition to ensure that clients qualifying for ATR funding have choices in treatment and access to a wide variety of community support services throughout the treatment process.

Priority populations for ATR funding are military veterans including National Guard service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, offenders reentering the community from any Missouri Department of Corrections institution, treatment courts such as drug courts and DWI courts, and other disadvantaged populations as identified locally.
